Protecting Your Privacy

Brokers International Financial Services, LLC (Brokers Financial) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you, why we collect it, how we share it, and how we protect it. Our Privacy Policy applies to current and former customers of Brokers Financial.

How and What Personal Information We Collect

Brokers Financial collects personal information from you during the account opening procedure. This information includes your name, address, date of birth, employment, marital status, assets, income, tax bracket, social security number, and identification numbers (e.g. driver’s license, passport, or other government issued identification that reflects your residence, photograph, and nationality).

We may also receive information from consumer reporting services or government agencies while verifying your identity or from other information you provided to purchase a particular product.

Why We Collect Your Personal Information

Federal law requires financial institutions, which include broker-dealers and Registered Investment Advisers, to obtain, verify, and maintain information for each person or entity that opens an account. Brokers Financial may not be able to open an account for you if we cannot verify your identity.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

To protect your personal information, we have security processes in place to comply with applicable federal standards. This includes physical safeguards (e.g. locked files and secured building) and electronic safeguards (e.g. encrypted computers, strong passwords, and restricted access).

Brokers Financial also trains its employees and representatives on the proper handling of personal information, the confidentiality of personal information, and their duty to take reasonable steps to safeguard it.

How We Share Your Personal Information

You have the right to limit some but not all sharing. Below is a table with common situations where your personal information might be shared, can we share, and can you limit the sharing.

Other Important Information

  • We do not sell your personal information;
  • As a general practice we do not market products to our clients either individually or jointly;
  • If we do market products jointly, the other financial company is also required to protect your personal information;
  • We deliver our Privacy Policy to you on an annual basis as long as you maintain an ongoing relationship with us;
  • You can obtain information about SIPC, including the SIPC brochure by calling them at 202.371.8300 or at www.sipc.org;
  • You can obtain an investor brochure that includes information describing FINRA BrokerCheck either by calling their BrokerCheck Hotline at (800) 289-9999 or at www.finra.org; and
  • We will comply with more restrictive state laws to the extent they apply.
